MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Want to travel back in time? Well, look no further than the Meridian Historical Village on Oct. 2 and 3 for the Blue and Grey Living History Days.
From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the village will have multiple events surrounding the American Civil War, like live reenactments of soldier life, candle making and more.
The event is free to the public and food trucks and a Kona Ice truck will be there with refreshments.
The Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring this event along with the Friends of Historic Meridian and the 7th Michigan Volunteer Infantry, Company B.
Along with volunteers, the 102nd U.S. Colored Troops Company B, the 17th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment and the 5th Texas Infantry will be reenactors for the event.
We spoke with Patrick Reynolds, the executive director of the Friends of Historic Meridian, who said the event is more family focused, but it also has something for everyone.
The Meridian Historical Village is located at 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos MI 48864.
