MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Board and the Planning Commission held a joint meeting on Aug. 16 to discuss current projects.
Director of Community Planning and Development Tim Schmitt detailed what topics were covered during the meeting during the Township Board meeting on Aug. 17.
"Three main topics that we focused on at the meeting, the mixed use planned unit development which is the next item on the agenda, the sign ordinance update and the form-based code," Schmitt said.
The biggest topic talked about during this joint meeting was the mixed use planned unit development. The board was concerned with the amenities program and prioritization.
Treasurer Phil Deschaine said he would like to see more joint meetings in the future.
"I would like to see us get these in the schedule so that we are meeting at least twice a year, if not three times a year with the Planning Commission," Deschaine said.
A public hearing should take place before the end of 2021 for the sign ordinance update.
