WILLIAMSTON - The Nevells family is gearing up for the 12th Annual Adam D. Nevells’ Memorial Golf Outing and Dinner.
Adam Nevells was a very active boy that loved band and was very active in sports including wrestling at Okemos High School before he tragically passed away in a car accident while leaving the school.
“We want to give back to the community that Adam loved,” said Nevells. “My vision was that 20 or 30 years from now that an Okemos High School guidance counselor say you should apply for the Adam Nevells scholarship.”
This year’s contributions will benefit the community more than ever.
“This event has done so well over the years that we have Adam’s fund has now over $135,000 in it and because the fund pays the annual scholarships out of the interest, Adam’s fund will out-live us all,” said Adam’s dad, Mike Nevells.
The event will be held on Aug 22, at the Wheatfield Valley Golf Course in Williamston.
Registration for the event will begin at 12 pm. and there will be a shotgun start at 1 pm. followed by the annual dinner at 5 pm. There is also a dinner only option.
For more information on how to participate or become a sponsor for the event, people can contact Mike Nevells at 517.285.8733.
