OKEMOS - Last Week Farmers' Market began its annual summer season Launch at the Marketplace on the Green pavilion at 1995 Central Park Drive. The market will open on Wednesdays from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturdays between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm.
With over 40 vendors to shop from, the Farmers' Market Features a variety of fresh produce and ready-to-eat meals sourced from local farmers and small businesses around Michigan.
Along with an assortment of seasonal summer products, the farmers market is a place where community members can support vendors and food trucks while listening to local artists playing music at the Green Pavilion.
Director of Parks and Recreation, LuAnn Maisner, stated that, "Every Wednesday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm there will be a musical performance on stage, cornhole, arts and crafts for the kids, in addition to a food truck or two for people to enjoy, and so we are hoping that the Marketplace becomes the place Wednesday night in Meridian Township, that's what we are looking forward to this summer."
The Farmers' Market is open this summer on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week, beginning from May until October and possibly continuing through September.
