MASON - Ingham County Animal Control are holding dog vaccinations throughout the summer and into the fall in order to help dog owners get their pets vaccinated, as well as assisting in purchasing a dog license.
Vaccination clinics are currently scheduled for July 7, August 25 and September 8.
Clinics are to be held at the Ingham County Fairgrounds, hosted by ICACAS veterinary staff and volunteers for drive-in services. Rabies shots for car-friendly dogs, as well as the ability to purchase a dog license on the spot are among the services to be provided. As of now, social distancing and COVID-19 measures will be observed.
Michigan state law requires every dog to have a license to the county that they reside in. Having a dog without a license in Ingham County is a misdemeanor crime.
Current one-year license rates are $15 if a dog is already spayed/neutered, and $45 if they are not. A three-year license costs $35 for a sterilized dog and $125 for one that is intact.
More information may be released closer to each vaccination clinic date and is subject to change. See the link to the Ingham County Animal Control website below to read further.
