MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - As Women's History Month comes to a close, it's never too late to recognize female leaders around Meridian Township. Human Resources Director for the Township, Abby Tithof, was recently hired in August:
"It feels good to have a voice...we have a number of directors who meet every Monday...it feels great being part of that process," Tithof explained.
Tithof credits meeting new people as her favorite part about her new job:
"[My favorite part is] getting to know the people...and everybody who makes this Township run...it's extra interesting because we're in a pandemic...I went from my former job where we had been working remotely [to starting in the building] here in August...there are a lot of people I had only gotten to see through Zoom...it's a unique getting-to-know -you kind of period right now," Tithof admitted.
In the closing days of Women's History Month, the Human Resources director also offered advice for aspiring female leaders:
"Talk to people. Learn about them. Find out who you are, what your strengths are, and what you really enjoy...once you figure it out, only good things can happen," Tithof advised.
