MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - As part HOMTV’s Women’s History Month, HOMTV interviewed women leaders in Meridian Township including, Parks and Recreation Director LuAnn Maisner.
Maisner said she is thankful for the people in the community.
“I feel very fortunate to be a leader in Meridian Township regardless of being a male or a female, we have a great team here,” said Maisner. “There’s so much support here, and parks and recreation, I don’t know if there’s a better place in the state of Michigan to work with the support we have.”
Maisner also said, although she wants whoever is best qualified for any open position to be hired, having diversity within her staff is very important to her.
“We definitely need to have a balance we wouldn’t want an entire all female department or an entire all male department,” said Maisner. “Everyone has their different perspective and I appreciate the perspectives of both male and female on my staff.”
