MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - 26 small businesses in Meridian Township were recently awarded $15,000 in survival grants through the Michigan Small Business Survival Grant Program in order to soften impacts of the Gatherings and Mask Order implemented by the state Health Department last December. The recipients were recently announced by the Lansing Economic Area Partnership.
Businesses which received funding from the Survival Grant Program in Meridian Township include Blondie’s Barn, Blue Gill Grill, Coral Gables Restaurant, Happendance, High Caliber Karting, Spag’s Bar & Grill, and Stillwater Grill, amongst others.
"This is an amazing opportunity for our small businesses some of which did not receive funding in our second round. This first quarter will be hardest for those small businesses that had to be shut down right at the height of our typical retail season. I’ve been told by local business owners that the boost in financial support is what has kept the doors from closing permanently. We are so grateful to our regional partners like MEDC and LEAP for organizing and administering the program," stated Amber Clark, Meridian Township Neighborhoods and Economic Development Director.
