UPDATE: LANSING - Capital Area Michigan Works is partnering with Lansing Community College to offer a computer science training program for the unemployed.

ORIGINAL STORY: LANSING - More than 300 unemployed Michigan residents will have the opportunity to enroll in a free transitional career program known as the Capital Area Tech knowledge E-Pathways.

This program is available to any unemployed Michigan resident looking to enhance their knowledge and skill in computer sciences through various degree and certification programs being offered by Michigan Works.

Depending on preference, those interested will have the option to enroll in a variety of programs ranging from intensive six-week programs to two-year associate degree programs and more. The E-pathways program which is made possible by a 4.4 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, will allow all interested to enroll in whichever program they desire with free tuition to cover the entire program cost.

The intensive programs which are based on a computer science focus will prepare disciplined and dedicated participants for the competitive job market in Lansing and surrounding areas.
