LANSING - President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend and is currently hospitalized. The Ingham County Health Department is urging everyone who attended the hearing to quarantine.
The health department came to its conclusion after consulting with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. People are likely contagious with COVID-19 two days before a positive test, which makes it possible he was contagious at last Wednesday's hearing.
Anyone who was within six feet of Giuliani for 15 minutes or more should quarantine whether or not a mask was worn.
“Unfortunately, Mayor Giuliani has been hospitalized with COVID-19. His hospitalization comes only days after being in a confined conference room in Lansing for several hours without a mask,” said Ingham County Health Officer Linda S. Vail. “Adding to my concern is that many attendees were also unmasked. This is the highest level of risk. Those who were present without a mask and those who were within 6 feet of Mayor Giuliani must quarantine for the safety of others. I wish Mayor Giuliani a full and speedy recovery.”
