MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Farmers’ Market officially held their first Saturday event under the new Marketplace on the Green pavilion, located at 1995 Central Park Drive in Okemos on Saturday, October 17th.
Marketplace on the Green is the new home to the Meridian Township Farmers’ Market, now that the original pavilion has outgrown its space and has over 60 vendors. With the new location, not only is it utilizing the existing Meridian Mall parking lot for visitor parking, it is a social and economic centerpiece and provides community space for vendors, craft fairs, Township Events, musical entertainment and more.
HOMTV spoke with Tom Cary, the Farmers Market Manager, and said it felt good to see people come out and have a look at the new market. “I’m really thankful that the Township is so committed to the market and made this beautiful space and I really think the vendors and customers are really enjoying it. Looking forward to next year and having more activities for kids and music for the community to enjoy,” said Cary.
