MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MI - A new business just opened in Meridian Township. House of Soles, located at 1737 West Grand River Ave, in Okemos held a grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday October 10th at 6pm.
Several Meridian Township Officials were present, including Township Board Trustee Courtney Wisinski, Neighborhoods & Economic Development Director Amber Clark, and Lieutenant Rick Grillo of the Meridian Township Police Department, along with a special guest, NFL Hall of Famer Willie Lanier.
The House of Soles is a sneaker resale shop and the creation of Okemos twin-brothers Lennie and Lonnie Smith, who are both honor students and athletes at Haslett High School. They want to provide a safe place to resell their shoes and do business with people of all ages. They are both excited about being job and wealth creators and plan to employ a staff of onsite consultants.
Lonnie Smith, the CEO spoke with HOMTV and says, “It feels really good a we’ve been worked really hard these past few months and have people come out and buy stuff feels good for me and my family.”
Smith also gave advice for people who want to start their own business and added, “It doesn’t matter what age you or if you have a certain focus or something you want to do, all you have to do is put your mind to it.”
