UPDATE:
OKEMOS - Since starting Sporties for Shorties 10 years ago, Meridian Township Recreation Specialist, Mike Devlin has seen his program not only grow in popularity, but also keep smiles on kids faces.
Sporties for Shorties is a youth program offered in Meridian Township through the Parks & Recreation Department. The program is designed for three to five year olds and its goal is to spark an interest in sports, develop motor skills and coordination, while maintaining the idea that sports should be fun. Coach Mike runs the program and through the years he has seen its popularity grow.
"Just make sure you sign up on time, it does fill up pretty quick, they're pretty popular classes. It's very entertaining for parents, a lot of fun for the kids, and guarantee they'll have fun." - Mike Devlin, Meridian Township Parks & Recreation Specialist
Sporties for Shorties runs throughout the entire Summer and doesn't stop there. When the snow comes, Coach Mike moves his program indoors to the Michigan Athletic Club.
