MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The start of summer signifies the season Michiganders know too well: construction season. Commercial and residential buildings are being developed in Meridian Township this June.
Grand River Avenue will be one place to see many of these changes with the new LaFontaine FCA Dealership on the corner of Powell Road and Grand River.
Aspen Dental and Chipotle will be sharing the building at 2085 West Grand River formerly known as Leo’s Lodge.
The former Super 8/Knights Inn hotel on 2736 E. Grand River Ave. is undergoing renovations as it is being made into a Clarion Pointe hotel.
Less pizza and more pancakes are hitting the area as the former Pizza Hut on 1753 West Grand River Ave. is being transformed into Anna’s House. The popular Michigan breakfast eatery has secured their remodeling permits.
The mixed-use development plan for the seven buildings that will make up the Village of Okemos project is in the works.
Five new residential buildings are being added to Elevation, an apartment complex at 2362 Jolly Oak Road in Okemos. This is a part of three phase construction plan, and this new development falls into phase two.
The construction has yet to start, but the plans are approved for six new buildings in Meridian Township. Woda Cooper, Fedewa Homes and Cooper Creek are residential developments that will begin to enter the township. Special use permits have been approved for a medical marijuana provisioning centers for Haslett Gallery, The W. Investment Holdings and The Cured Leaf TC, INC.
HOMTV will continue to follow these developments and will provide updates as they come.
