MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce awarded a resident of Meridian Township, Kelli Ellsworth Etchison, for her service for making the community better.
Kelli Ellsworth-Etchison is the Chief Marketing Officer at LAFCU. The Community Service Award is one of four that is presented at the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce annual dinner before more than 650 people, and is the only award that is presented to an individual rather than a business.
HOMTV spoke to Etchison over the phone about her award and recognition and she says, “This award is a really significant award as it celebrates the body of work over my career of community service. To be honored in that fashion from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce is huge, and I'm pretty humbled by it. I think about all the different people that could have been selected for something like this who do amazing work in our community, and I'm honored.
Etchison believes, "We're not here to serve ourselves, we're here to serve others. There’s a lot of great need in our community, and I have had the privilege to serve on boards of many great organizations. A lot of camaraderie comes out of it, and you meet great people. I strongly feel that businesses operating in our community should roll up their sleeves and give back. I want to support businesses that are supporting our community and helping people who are less fortunate and have a great need, and that’s what I’m about.”
Thank you Kelli for all your hard work and commitment and we are proud that you are part of our community!
