EAST LANSING - The Wharton Center is proud to present another award-winning musical for the critically acclaimed production of Lerner & Loewe's "My Fair Lady". The Broadway musical made its debut on March 15, 1956 with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, along with music by Frederick Lowe, and directed by Bartlett Sher.

The first performance at the Wharton Center was Wednesday, February 26th, starring Kevin Pariseau as Colonel Pickering, and Gayton Scott as Mrs. Pearce respectively, and will run through Sunday, March 1st.

HOMTV had the pleasure and opportunity to speak with both actors for the musical, and Pariseau says, "My Fair Lady is all about accents, and a woman improving her accent. When people come in, people are shocked to hear British accents and it's a range to high class accents to low class accents. It is a show about people and their station, according to their accent."

Scott added that, "After the turn of the century, accent very much relates to class and station. Not anything about her person, but about the way she speaks will leave her in her class and that's the bet to Come to the theater, there's nothing like the live theater."
