Meridian Historical Village Organizes Christmas Traditions and Activities

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Sunday, December 8th, the Meridian Historical Village held their annual Christmas in the Village event from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Throughout the event, many explored all the historic buildings, visited the gift shop, watched musical performances in the chapel, had tasty treats and took pictures with Santa Claus.

Volunteers participated in the event by wearing period dresses to reenact Christmas traditions of the mid-1800's.

This was Patrick Reynolds' first time being part of this event as the new Executive Director for the Meridian Historical Village. Reynolds also attended this event through school field trips when he was a kid.

"This event within Meridian Township I think is unique especially because of our buildings, some of our volunteers in period costumes and the ties to local history here."

He also looked forward to seeing all the decorations on the historic buildings, the mid-1800's Christmas traditions and meeting many residents in the community as well as inspiring kids with all the historical memorabilia throughout the Village.

Brad Brogren, President of The Friends of Historic Meridian, was also present, and was excited to see many families enjoy all the holiday festivities.

"This is a big event for Meridian Township and the entire community, people come out here and the volunteers who work it, we all enjoy the crowds, enjoy seeing Santa Claus."

The event ended with a short speech from Meridian Historical Village Executive Director Patrick Reynolds, who thanked everyone for coming and organizing this event, and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony by Santa Claus.
