OKEMOS - HOMTV relies on the loyalty of our alumni members and supporters in helping us continue fulfilling our mission of positively impacting the growth, development and advancement of interns seeking careers in the media industry through the HOMTV Internship Program.
This year, we launched an Alumni Giving Program called “HOM Is Where the Start Is” to assist interns financially with costs associated with our unpaid internship program. Through the generosity of our Alumni Network, we can offer assistance for commuting, housing and professional clothing expenses, as well as career development opportunities. While encouraging participation in the HOMTV Internship Program, your support will also allow us to strengthen the depth of the interns’ experience and provide them with tools and opportunities they may not necessarily afford otherwise.
Since the first HOMTV intern in 1981, approximately 1,000 interns have successfully completed the Internship Program and over 500 have moved on to work in the field of journalism, television production, film production and the communications industry both nationally and internationally. It's very likely that the HOMTV Internship Program supported many of the experiences that helped you get your start in the industry. And even if you just recently started your career, it's not too soon to think about giving back; no amount is too small to make a difference.
When reflecting on your own connection and experience with HOMTV, please remember that your donation will equip future “HOMies” with the tools for success and help get their “Start” in the industry.
