OKEMOS - For those who are driving along Okemos Road in Downtown Okemos will soon start seeing construction.

While this is not construction on the Village of Okemos project just yet, it is just the beginning.

Starting Friday, June 28th Hamilton Road will be closed by Wolverine Building Group to facilitate the removal of contaminated soils in Downtown Okemos. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy will be in charge of the soil remediation process.

This clean-up will make the project site safe and ready for development.
