MASON - Ingham County Animal Control Shelter has moved into its new facilities. The shelter has resumed full services and is ready to celebrate their new home. The Grand Opening ceremony was held on June 14th.
This opening event celebrates the hard work and dedication over the last three years when the millage passed by a significantly positive vote, and then the planning and construction process. The new shelter has a greatly expanded floorplan, provides exceptional space for the animals in its care and boasts an extensive medical suite.
The Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund Chairperson Holly Thompson presented Shelter Director Jodi LeBombard with the ceremonial check of $300,000 from their highly successful Capital Campaign.
Immediately following the Grand Opening Ceremony, the annual summer Adopt-A-Fest began with discounted adoptions at the shelter all day and night straight through until 6 pm on Saturday, June 15th. Adoptions discounted to $30 for dogs, $10 for adult cats and kittens and $5 for senior cats.
Citizens in Ingham Country expressed their love for this new shelter at the event and they are glad these wandering animals can have a better place to live before finding their "forever homes".
