LANSING - The Susan G. Komen Foundation will be hosting their annual Mid-Michigan walk to raise money for breast cancer research and programs.
The walk, formerly known as Race for the Cure, which was a 5K event, has been re-branded into More Than Pink Walk.
"The More Than Pink Walk is a one mile community walk and we are at a new location as well this year at Cooley Law School Stadium," Brady Velazquez, Director of Events and Logistics for Komen Michigan said.
The money raised at the More the Pink Walk will go toward a range of things like free and low-cost mammograms and survivorship programs for breast cancer survivors.
Velazquez said it's about more than just wearing pink.
"We are more than pink. We are more than just a color. We are out there every day saving lives," Velazquez said.
The mile-long walk will be held on April 28, starting at the Cooley Law School Stadium at 11 a.m.
The cost to attend for adults 18 years and older is $20. Participants 17 and under get in for free.
