MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Exotic fruit, natural foods, and organic everything are all coming to Meridian Township. A 35,000 square-foot Whole Foods Market is being built at 2758 E. Grand River Ave.
Wolverine Building Group is contracted to work on the exterior of the store and began prepping the site this past winter. The entire project will cost between three and three and half million dollars.
Jim Reyers, Project Manager, explains the project’s time line by saying, "We are probably two weeks away from starting footings and foundations for the building itself. The shell portion of the project will be completed early to mid-November of this year and then the interior build out will take place. I believe Whole Foods has scheduled a Spring of 2015 opening."
Whole Foods is the eighth-largest food and drug store in the U.S and will open their seventh Michigan location in Meridian Township.
