MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - What’s going on in and around Meridian Township this month?
From family activities to do with the kids to hanging out with friends and having a drink, the community has a diverse lineup of events.
People can hear music from all over the world, learning different cultures, at the Third Annual Michigan Global Roots Music Fest.
It begins on March 11, and goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Michigan State University’s Broad Art Museum.
Since St. Patrick’s Day is approaching, the city of Grand Ledge will offer the festivities.
The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration will take place on March 11 and 12, and it will include a Grand Parade.
Attendees will experience Irish dance performances and listen to Irish music throughout the whole weekend.
Local high schools will also be having their own events for the community.
Haslett High School will be performing its Spring play, You
Can’t Take It With You on March 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school’s auditorium.
Also in Haslett, for those who like being hands on in the kitchen, cookbook author Maureen Abood will be answering questions.
The event will be held at the Haslett Library from 6:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. on March 30.
Back to theater, the MSU Theatre Department presents Xtigone, beginning on March 31 at 7:30 p.m.
Xtigone is a play about a Chicago girl trying to uncover the death of her brothers.
The play will run until April 3.
Continuing down Grand River Ave. and heading to Lansing, the Lansing Art Gallery will be holding an Art and Ale event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday through April 19.
