UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - This year, Meridian Township saw a small increase in state shared revenue for next year's budget.
State revenue sharing was increased as a result of population changes in the Township over the last decade.
The increase in state revenue funds is because of increased residents in the township.
"Most of the state lost population, we had a slight increase in population, so that was helpful because the pie is split by the population with the slight decease and with us having an increase, so that has helped," said Jerry Richards, Township Manager.
Other important parts of the budget for this year include information technology and the Central Fire Station, which was not accounted for in this years budget.
