MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the August 8th Township Board Meeting, the Board approved an amendment to the Elevation of Okemos Pointe brownfield plan in an amount not to exceed $5,898,251 over a maximum of 18 years.

Okemos Pointe, LLC submitted an amendment to a previously approved brownfield plan for the Elevation at Okemos Pointe located on the west side of Jolly Oak Road, north of Jolly Road. The original 11 year brownfield plan was capped at $3,891,103.

Township Treasurer Phil Deschaine told us why the Board approved the amendment.

He said, "It's not going to cost the township residents any additional money and it was a reasonable request."
