UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Red Cross sets goals based on the number of donations previously received at a site.
The donation takes about ten to fifteen minutes, and the whole process can take up to an hour and fifteen minutes from start to finish.
The Red Cross website says that only 38 percent of those eligible to give blood actually donate, most citing the reason that they are afraid of needles.
One donation of a pint of blood can save up to three lives.
If for some reason, you can’t donate, the Red Cross is always looking for volunteers and you can visit their website and find out more by clicking on the Volunteer tab.
