Spookiness Right Down The Street

HASLETT - Cheryl Underwood decorates her house alongside her friend Brian Wamhoff every Halloween and Christmas. This year, the decorations outside of her house were hard to beat.

With vibrant orange and purple lights, tombstones, skeleton dogs, huge skeletons, a bubbling cauldron and more, Underwood said her favorite thing about having her house decorated is the people.

"Everyone comes and they're so joyous and they're so grateful and they're very happy," Underwood said. "They're shocked we don't charge any fees and there's really no agenda other than just people smiling. And it's so nice since we've been through this whole COVID crisis to see people just genuinely happy."

Underwood has treats out for kids visiting and when Nov. 1 comes around, she said they are ready to tear everything down and start setting up for Christmas.

"We'll wake up on November 1, we'll start taking everything apart, putting it away and bringing the Christmas out. So it will probably take us a couple of weeks."

The decorations are located at 177 Damon Street in Haslett and all are welcome to go take a look.
