EAST LANSING - Saturday, April 18th, was the Spartan's Global Day of Service. At 8:30am Michigan State University students gathered at the Business College complex on campus for registration and a kickoff party. From there they boarded buses that took them to places they signed up to volunteer.
KC Keyton, a program director at the Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement, was excited to participate and help organize things at this year's event.
"You know, showing that spartans can come back into the community and help out, and help painting and help certain projects, so it does...I mean it feels good after they serve, or you should I guess. So it does hold a special meaning to me," says Keyton.
More than 420 students and 1,300 alumni participated at 90 sites around the world.
