FLINT - Last night in Flint, Michigan the energy was at an all time high as Presidential Democratic Candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton faced off in the Democratic Presidential Primary Debate.

Host Anderson Cooper began the debate asking the candidates to discuss their thoughts on the Flint Water Crisis.

"The Governor should resign," Sanders stated.

Clinton agreed with her opponent saying…"I agree, the Governor should resign. We need to get money from the Federal Government."

Sanders and Clinton were specifically asked the following question:

What specifically would you do to help the people of Flint right now?

Sanders replied stating…"The first thing you should do is not have people pay a bill for poisoned water."

He continued saying "We need a government that works for all of us, not just wealthy campaign contributors."

Clinton mentioned that she would like to tackle this issue across the board.

"I will do everything I can…water, soil, paint…we WILL get rid of it! I will be with Flint throughout this entire process."

The candidates were then asked how they would encourage companies to keep factories here in the U.S. instead of moving them to other countries as well.

"I want to do what I can to help small businesses," Clinton mentioned.

She then brought up the auto industry saying "If I voted how he voted for it, I believe the auto industry would have collapsed," referring to her opponent Sanders.

Sanders lashed back mentioning "If you are talking about the Wall Street bail out, where some of your friends destroyed this economy…"

Things got a tad heated when Clinton interrupted saying "ya know, if you're gonna talk, tell the whole story Senator Sanders!"

Sanders responded with "let me tell my story and you tell yours!"

The debate switched gears when the father of 14 year old Abigail Kopf who was shot in a mass shooting in Kalamazoo, Michigan asked the candidates what they will do to address the epidemic of mass shootings in the United States.

"Giving immunity to gun makers and gun sellers was a terrible mistake," Clinton said.

"People who should not have guns in America, should not be allowed to buy guns in America," Sanders stated on the gun control issue.

The discussion of Detroit Public Schools was brought up as well during the debate.

"We should be ashamed of how we treat our kids and our senior citizens. We are going to invest in our children and have the best public school system available," mentioned Sanders.

Clinton even stated…"When Detroit gets back their schools, they should have all the help they can get to be able to get teachers in the classroom, to be able to find spaces while schools are being repaired."

The nation's infrastructure as well as religion was also a topic of conversation during the Democratic debate as well before the candidates closing statements begun.

"We are here tonight in Flint, Michigan because of a terrible tragedy that has occurred, we have 29 million people that have no health insurance, we have school systems around America that are collapsing and yet we are the wealthiest country in the history of the world. We need in this country a political revolution where ordinary people stand up and reclaim the government that men and women fought and died for," Sanders stated.

Clinton provided her closing statements directly afterwards.

"We have a lot of work to do…we have a lot of economic barriers. I will do whatever I can as the Democratic nominee to run a campaign you'll be proud of. America's best day can be & are ahead of us."
