OKEMOS - The Okemos School Board received an unsolicited offer for part of Wardcliff Elementary School at the school board meeting on September 22nd.
The company that proposed the offer, Residential Options, Inc., works closely with Community Mental Health, a company that is currently leasing part of Wardcliff Elementary. Both companies specialize in evaluating patients with Autism and similar disorders.
The School Board ultimately decided to turn down the offer, although they did not rule out possible leasing opportunities.
“We work hard to make sure that whatever we do is going to be in what’s in the best interest of the district, not necessarily in the moment, but certainly as we plan for the future,” said Catherine Ash, Superintendent of Okemos Schools.
