MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Most people are ready for warm weather, but with that warm weather comes some problems to local roads.
The heavy snow from the last several months is thawing and resulting in several roads to be closed due to flooding including: Hagadorn Road between Jolly and Bennett and Okemos Road between Banyon and the Lake Drive. Some residential streets are closed as well due to high water.
"We close the road because it is not safe to drive through there. We will repair the roads if they needed and all depends on the weather. If the roads dry up and warm up, water will go down and we will re-open these roads," said William Conklin, Managing Director of Ingham County Road Department.
The Ingham County Road Department says they will continue to monitor these areas, make road repairs as necessary, and re-open these road as soon as possible.
The Ingham County Road Department also urges people to drive carefully and avoid these roads in the meantime.
