MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - In January, the Meridian Township Transportation Commission passed a motion to recommend the Township Board to instruct CATA to expand the boundaries of their Redi-Ride program.
Those boundaries include College Fields, Costco, Bath Meijer and Gas Station, MSU Clinical Center and the East Lansing Aquatic Center.
"Residents want to go to these areas and since they're in the township itself or immediately attached to the township, it's not going to be a hardship to Redi-Ride, cause undue delays to Redi-Ride if we include them," said Trustee Phil Deschaine.
At tonight's Township Board meeting, taxes were a discussion across the board in regards to the expansion.
After the Board discussed the proposed plan while considering how taxes will play into it, they passed the motion to instruct CATA to expand the boundaries.
