UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - After two years of operating as a food truck traveling around Meridian Township, the Purple Carrot Food Truck will now be opening its own farm - to - table restaurant.

The Red Haven will be located at the corner of Hagadorn and Mt. Hope just below The Hamptons luxury apartments. Co-owner Nina Santucci explained that the restaurant will be an extension of the food services they provide on the food truck. Rather than being served food on the go, customers can expect to have plated items that will feature some of Michigan's homegrown farm foods.

The menu items of The Red Haven will be seasonal and Santucci says the items will allow customers to experience various foods in much more different ways. The restaurant will also feature a bar, where customers can enjoy Michigan brewed beers and wines.

Although still in the construction stages, The Red Haven will be looking to have their grand opening on Wednesday, October 17th at 5pm.
