MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The numbers are in and the results are impressive. Saturday, April 27th, Meridian Township hosted its' Recycling Event, over 700 cars drove in to drop off several thousand pounds of metal, 900 pairs of shoes, and 1500 pounds of books that were donated to charities.
Over 100 volunteers lead the event and filled two semi trucks with electronics avoiding the landfills.
Recycling and Energy Conservation Coordinator LeRoy Harvey said "Habitat’s ReStore went away with a large box truck filled with furniture and building materials. In addition, we also filled a large van with packing peanuts."
