MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The recommended Meridian Township budget is set to be discussed at a public hearing on October 1st, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the town hall.
Township Manager Frank Walsh and Finance Director Gretchen Gomolka have been hard at work compiling the draft of the budget, which is available online at meridian.mi.us.
A Power Point presentation is also accessible at that same web address.
An expected point of interest will be the General Fund estimated shortfall. According to the drafted budget, the 2014 shortfall is estimated to be approximately 500,000 dollars less than the previous year's shortfall. Much of what exists in the General fund goes toward the Police and Fire Departments.
