MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Over at EastGate Park, renovations are planned for the bicycle pump track.
The track, consisting of ramps, logs, and stone has seen better days, with grass overgrowing the older parts of the track. The ramps and rollers have eroded, causing the ride around the track to not be as smooth as it could be. The Township Park Commission put Steve Brunner in charge of the renovations.
"We need to kinda bring it back to its original form and take care of some of those erosion issues so it rides the way it did when we first built it," said Brunner.
The dirt for the renovations came from the Cornell Road improvements, and Brian VanOrder from Michigan Demolition and Excavation has helped to line the dirt up at the track.
The scheduled work day for people to come and help move the dirt onto the track is July 24th.
