MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Monday, August 10th, the Meridian Township Planning Commission met to discuss Planned Unit Development #20014. Okemos Land Investment LLC proposes to construct 150 homes on approximately 94 acres of land located on the north side of Bennett Road west of Hulett Road.

The Planning Commission found that the project met the lot density and open space requirements. In fact, approximately 20 acres are planned to be donated to Meridian Township. Generally speaking, the Planning Commission had few concerns other than the proposed setback allowances. A request was made for comparison data from similar developments in the Township.

The discussion of this topic will continue at the next meeting with the goal of achieving a ''Resolution of Support" in order to pass it on to the Township Board.
