MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township's outdoor warning sirens were updated in the spring of two thousand twelve, and are now controlled through a new dispatch center.
The sirens are regularly tested at full volume on the first Saturday of every month. The sirens are also silently tested on the remaining Saturdays.
In the event of a tornado or strong winds, an outdoor warning siren will ring at full volume, advising you that shelter should be taken. Once you have taken shelter, you should turn on a television or a radio for more information.
Pay attention to the warning sirens. They'll help to keep you safe and sound.
