MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - After Okemos volleyball player, and singer, Taylor Taylor, finished up the national anthem, the Cheiftans took the court against the rams.

Okemos took the first game in the best of five, but the rams would not go quietly as they took the second, tying the score at 1 game apiece.

But, after the second frame, the Cheiftan girls did not look back, narrowly winning the third game, and and finishing with a decisive 25-to-10 win in the fourth.

After the game head coach Jamie Ianni said that the decisive score in the last frame made all the difference.

"I told the kids, that it sure sends a message when you win 25-10," she said. "More so than even 25-14 or 25-15. We had it rolling, so I thought that that was really important for us, In terms of our confidence, and you know, and hopefully the next time we see them that will still be in the back of their mind a little bit."
