OKEMOS - Okemos volleyball, known as a local powerhouse, took on Lansing Everett recently at home. Despite a late rally by Everett, the chieftains swept the Vikings in 3 games with strong play by Daria Richards and Rachel Thomas.
While the team looks to go far in the post season, playing for Okemos means something more for the players.
"I think we're really tight knit and we all want what's best for each other," said Captain, Daria Richards. "That's really important when we're on the court together. We really understand each other which is fun. There's a lot of family aspects. We hang out a lot and know each other so well so it's easy to bond."
As the team continues to win they said their bond grows stronger. With solid conference play so far the chieftains look to make lasting memories.
