OKEMOS - The Okemos boys soccer team is in the heat of a playoff race, as they took on Battlecreek Lakeview on Tuesday night in post-season-play.

Sporting playoff inspired hairstyles, the Chieftains controlled play for the majority of the game, allowing only one shot against after halftime,

But, Lakeview's goaltender was the story, making save after save against the Okemos offensive attack.

The game was tied after regulation, forcing overtime, where Chieftain Larry Chen scored on this break away to secure the win.

After the game, Coach Brian Guggemos spoke about his team's effort.

"We were a little unlucky on a lot of chances it seemed like, but that's kinda the way soccer goes sometimes," Guggemos said. "Some days they'll go in and some days they won't, but I thought we created chances, and I thought for the most part we played pretty well. I thought we had good flow to our play, and we just gotta make that final play and we just have to keep working and hopefully we'll get a little better at that."
