UPDATE:
OKEMOS, MI - Michigan's weather limits our options of activities in the winter.
But a brand new facility is giving young children something to do.
"I know that when people see our finished product here they are going to be very excited. Its just a great place for parents to bring their children," said Jeanne Parker, Manager on Duty at Goldfish Swim School.
The new Goldfish Swim school is offering swim lessons for children ages four to 12 years old.
"We run perpetual lessons so they're year around and children learn on a perpetual basis meaning they're always building on their skills," said Rebecca Burlingame, General Manager at Goldfish Swim School.
The Okemos location is the newest addition to the franchise that already has schools in Birmingham and Ann Arbor.
"Okemos is really a great area for a goldfish swim school. There are so many families in this area but so many young families that are really interested in investing in their children," said Burlingame
The school is set to open up December fifth.
"Believe it or not, the people have been working on it, they've been working hard even working on the weekends, so we're set to be open on december 5th," said Parker.
People seem to be looking forward to the new school as over 100 children are already signed up for classes.
"families here are so excited to have a place come into Okemos that's just solely dedicated to working with children," said Burlingame.
