New Meridian Township Park Commission Appointment

New Meridian Township Park Commission Appointment

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the February 19th meeting, the Township Board voted unanimously to approve Ami Van Antwerp to the Park Commission. The seat was previously held by Courtney Wisinski, who was appointed to the Township Board in 2019. She will serve through 2020, when the seat is voted on by Township residents.

Ami was the recommendation of the Park Commission, as she has an extensive background in state and local government. She is currently employed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as a Communications Specialist. Previously, she worked for the City of East Lansing from 1999 to 2016. She also has a degree in Parks and Recreation from Michigan State University.

The Park Commission is an elected body of five members who manage the Parks and Recreation services of the Township. The Commission has authority to manage, maintain, and create parks when they deem fit to do so.
