MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the July 13th meeting, the Meridian Township Planning Commission approved a motion to install a new cell phone tower in the Township. This issue has been a topic of debate for several weeks among both the Commission and the general public.

Many residents raised concerns that the new 90 foot cell phone tower would be intrusive and unsightly. However, the engineering company and several members of the Commission believe that the tower will provide a much needed improvement to cell phone service in the area.

A construction date for the new tower has not yet been set.
