OKEMOS, MI - Forget pain at the pump. Gas prices right now is more like torture.
According to AAA, Michigan ranked in the top five most expensive states for gasoline. The average cost per gallon is more than $4 as of September 6th. That's 20 cents over the national average.
"It is what it is... You have to pay for it," said JoAnna Warren.
JoAnn just got back from Muskegon visiting her daughter. It cost her a whopping $60 to fill up her ride. The Marathon gas station in Okemos isn't too bad compared to the averages at $3.83.
"I would be doing a lot more vacationing this summer if it wasn't for that," said motorist Gordon Smith.
Gordon topped off for $20. Another just a penny more. Some were way more than that.
"Most don't care anymore. They're bummed. All of us are. But it's out of your control. It's out of out control," said service manager of the Marathon, Mike O'Conner.
True for most, but some have found their own ways of sticking it to the man by riding bikes.
