MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township recycling partnered with the Haslett Habitat ReStore for a Latex Paint Recycling Day on March 28th.
Nearly 3,000 cans of used latex paints from residents, were recycled at the event. The Habitat ReStore accepts used paint all year round, but usually at the cost of $2 a can.
“It’s really great. We got volunteers from Grand Valley Alumni, MSU, Okemos High School. And we have hundreds of people coming through with paints,” said Leroy Harvey, Meridian Township Recycling and Energy Coordinator.
If you need to handle unused oil paint or other hazardous materials, please send them to the Ingham County Household Hazadous Waste Collections between May and September. Or call 887-4312 for more information.
