March Is Reading Month

March Is Reading Month

HASLETT - Every year, the month of March is considered Reading Month. Meaning families and their kids will be able to join in on all the fun activities and happenings going on in their community revolving around it.

"March is Reading Month we've really focused on early literacy activities. We have a calendar in each branch that families can pick up," says Ann Chapman who is Head Librarian at Haslett Library. "Each day in the month of March we've given families an early literacy activity that they can do with their kids."

Although Reading Month may seem as though it is a program aimed just towards kids, adults are able to join in just as much.

“Reading month is not just for kids. We have robust adult collections and print and digital formats in all of our branches. We have displays and bookmarks if you’re thinking if you would like a recommendation for something to read if you would like that,” Chapman adds.

The Haslett library offers a wide variety of reading options stemming from children, young adults and all the way to adults.

The library also offers three book discussion groups that meet every month, which could help to finish your March Reading Month out strong.

To find out more on how you can get involved in reading month, you can visit your local library.
