EAST LANSING - Every year the Spartan faithful have a chance to watch their team chase a championship. This year should be no different as Sparty returns almost every key player from their run last year. First and foremost, the forward, the captain, Denzel Valentine.
Another big name to watch this year, is guard, Tum-Tum Nairn. The Bahamas native has developed like all Izzo coached players do, and he looks to be the maestro for this years team.
No theatrics or crazy kiss outfits this year, just the raising of another final four banner, bringing Izzo and the Spartans the 7th in his tenure.
MSU is primed for this season with returning talent on the court, and the always rabid spartan fan base off the court, some of which showed up at least 4 hours early just to catch a glimpse of this years squad and to see the new banner.
So while the team was honored and put on display for the event, the real show came off the court. very few other places in the world can generate this much off-season excitement. packing every seat in the Breslin just to introduce a team, is not an easy feat. But as every spartan in green and white nation knows, now is as good a time as any to reach higher.
