EAST LANSING - On Monday, Feb. 27th, MSU hosted, 2018 Democratic Candidate for Governor, Gretchen Whitmer to speak at Wilson Hall. Whitmer spoke to students and faculty about her plans if elected as Governor to help students and residents in inner cities, afford education costs and find jobs. She also mentioned about the ongoing water crisis in Flint, and her thoughts on how to solve this issue.
"I think it really starts with making it a priority to tear up pipes that need to be torn up, to get the experts in that the people who live there trust, to counsel, their going to need counseling."
During Whitmer's speech she also answered any questions or concerns that audience members had about any of her talking points. Whitmer also continued to speak to students about how she plans to take action on helping the younger generation afford education costs and help with student loan debt.
