Lee Ballor, Math and Science Teacher at Chippewa Middle School, said she plans to use her award for more instructional books with ideas and hands-on activities.
"I also want to look into some problem solving activities and some fraction manipulative bars and things for my kids to use this year," Ballor added.
The event was held at the Country Club of Lansing and guests started to arrive at 5:30 p.m.
The recipients and family members were served dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the recognition began shortly after.
